Dr Mära always go above and beyond to make sure that all of my issues are addressed and then successfully treated. She is meticulous about understanding and asks probing questions to gauge my progress and to discover any new challenges that may develop. She has an extensive pharmacy of Chinese, herbal and alternative remedies that really work great. She was able to treat my shingles and relieve my symptoms. She is ready and eager to provide treatment documentation when needed. Thank goodness for Dr Mära, she has helped me immensely along the long and winding road of healing and supplemental treatment of metastatic prostate cancer and has aided me and my oncologists in bringing the cancer to a dormant state. She has also helped me heal my mind and my spirit.

I have small fiber neuropathy and was suffering from horrible nerve pain and using a cane for balance issues. At first I was feeling kind of skeptical because nothing I was doing seemed to be working and I figured I will give acupuncture a try. After about 3 visits, things started to improve, my balance improved and my nerve pain decreased as well. Then the miracle happened, after about 2 months of treatments I was able to walk without a cane for the first time in over 2 years. Therefore, I highly recommend Dr. Mära. She takes the time to listen to her patients and has a great bedside manner.

Nine months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  During the course of treatment with chemotherapy I developed neuropathy in my hands and feet.  As an artist who relies on her hands to create it was extremely difficult to continue my work without the feeling in my fingers, also, walking became hazardous as I fell several times because of the numbness in my feet.  I decided to try acupuncture to see if it would help me.

Mara is wonderful at explaining how acupuncture works, she has a heart of gold and is very supportive and extremely caring.  After only 2 treatments I noticed a slight change in the numbness in my fingers and after more  therapy the numbness is continuing to abate.  I now have full feeling in 6 of my fingers and after each treatment  I continue to have more feeling in the last 2 fingers and thumbs.  This applies to my feet as well.  I am thrilled to say that I’m now able to continue with my artistic endeavors thanks to Mara’s expertise and magic needles.  She has helped me more than words can express.

I spent many years as a competitive body builder, which eventually became impossible because of the damage I inflicted to my joints from lifting heavy weights and using generally poor form. I later developed a passion for Triathlon but found it difficult to do those events because of joint and back pain. I was never one to believe in Naturopathic medicine or Acupuncture or anything out of the mainstream of western medicine. That has changed completely.

I now have monthly visits with Mara Kevan for Acupuncture and other “alternative” treatments and am happy to say that I live generally pain free. I have continued to train and compete in Triathlon events and completed my first Ironman a few months ago. I continue to train for upcoming races and events and enjoy every minute of it.

My experience with Mara Kevan, MARAcupuncture, was eye opening. I have opted for alternative & naturopathic medicine for years but had never tried acupuncture until now. Mara’s first consultation with me was a thorough analysis of my health history so she could concentrate on the areas that would give me the most relief. I’ve always believed everything is connected but when she showed me a chart about diet choices and the affect on blood sugar spiking and related it to the issues I was experiencing it all made sense.
